Course information

We will introduce the concept of Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) and explore what Glass fibre is and how it is utilised. We will delve into the properties of GRP and its applications across various industries and discuss the different techniques and materials employed for repairing GRP.

Specifically, we will focus on the process of undertaking an external deck repair; and internal and external hull repairs. We will also examine the various materials that can be used for GRP repairs, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

Finally, we will delve into gel coat repairs, the finishing of the gel coat, and the proper techniques for achieving a smooth and seamless repair; we will also touch on post-repair considerations and maintenance tips to ensure the longevity of the repaired GRP structure.
