If you have always dreamt of a career within marine conservation then this course could be the perfect place to start.
Offering a unique qualification within the sector, our Level 3 Marine Conservation Diploma will give you the opportunity to learn from experienced marine biology and conservation professionals as well as providing excellent opportunities for networking at our unique Industry Day.

In the first year of the course you will have the opportunity to study 5 individual units which are heavily focused on Animal Welfare and Ethics. The focus of this area is to gain knowledge and skills that are fundamental to any role in the animal sector.

These additional units will include visits to nationally recognised animal Sanctuaries and Zoos. You will have first-hand experience in monitoring the behaviour of animals in relation to captivity, rehabilitation and their natural habitat. You will investigate factors that affect animal health and which cover a range of influencing factors affecting growth and reproduction.

Within our established Aquaria at Falmouth Marine School you will gain hands on experience of ensuring the health and welfare of our species and the systems that support them. This experience will support you in securing a work experience placement in any national Aquarium or a conservation industry of your choice.

Embedded within the course there will be opportunities to conduct rocky shore surveys as well as pelagic surveys on a vessel in the Fal Estuary and should your passion lead you directly into the ocean environment, there is an additional opportunity for you to undertake a PADI diving qualification.
