Course information

This one-day course, held in our dedicated Boatbuilding workshops, will give you an introduction to dealing with the most common repairs required on a wooden boat, or on the wooden components fitted to a GRP boat. Run by our professional team of Boatbuilding Tutors, you will learn alongside likeminded individuals and fellow sailors/boat owners.

You will learn about the tools and techniques required to affect a repair, and learn how to use hand and power tools safely.

The properties and types of timber, fixings, adhesives and bedding compounds that should be used for particular components and fixtures.

Gain knowledge and confidence to be able to tackle maintenance and repair of your boat/boat’s wooden components.

Boatbuilding Level 2 or Level 3, Carpentry, Joinery, Cabinet Making, Site Carpentry
